Create and Use Reusable One-Click AI Tools

Learn how to use tools from the AI Tools Marketplace, build custom tools for your team, and share them across your organization in WorkLLM.

AI Tools are parameterized prompt templates that produce structured, consistent output with a single click. Instead of writing the same complex prompt from scratch every time, you can use the AI Tools by filling in a few inputs and clicking Run. AI Tools enforce guardrails, maintain consistent tone and format, and save time on recurring tasks.

What is an AI tool?

An AI Tool is different from a saved prompt. A saved prompt is a reusable piece of text. An AI Tool is a complete, configured experience: it has labeled input fields, a prompt template that uses those inputs, an output format specification, and a model selection. Team members do not need to know the underlying prompt — they fill in the fields, run the tool, and receive a structured output.

Using a tool from the AI Tools Marketplace

The AI Tools Marketplace is a catalog of pre-built tools — both WorkLLM-provided tools and tools shared by your organization.

1. Open the Marketplace

   Click AI Tools in the left sidebar, then select the Marketplace tab.

2. Browse and install a tool

   Browse by category or use the search bar to find a tool. Click a tool card to preview its description, inputs, and example output. Click Install to add it to your workspace.

3. Run the tool

   Navigate to AI Tools → My Tools. Click the tool you want to run. Fill in the input fields — each field is labeled and may include a placeholder or helper text. Click Run to generate the output.

4. Review and use the output

   The tool generates a structured response below the input form. Copy the output, send it to a chat, or save it directly from the output panel.
